Do I need a lawyer to write a CAM dispute letter?
Not for a straightforward overcharge. A well-structured letter with the right lease citation and the math showing the error is usually sufficient to prompt a response. A lawyer becomes more useful if the landlord disputes your facts, if the amount is large, or if you need to preserve specific legal rights.
What happens if the landlord ignores my letter?
Send the follow-up template included in this pack, referencing your original letter and the date you sent it. Check your lease for a required response window. If the landlord remains unresponsive, review whether your lease has an arbitration clause or gives you offset rights. At that stage, legal counsel is worth consulting.
Should I pay the reconciliation while disputing it?
